The following conditions apply only for in-service applicants.
- The in-service applicant must be part of the planned workforce numbers required for training and have occupied an existing NHS salaried post, within the same department as the training post, prior to training.
- The in-service applicant will follow the whole programme and must be released from service duties to undertake their education and training.
- The in-service applicant must have permission from their employer to undertake the required academic and work-based training requirements.
- The in-service applicant must have been selected by the employing department.
- The employing department must be satisfied that the in-service applicant matches the person specification for the role and meets the entry requirements.
- The in-service applicant must be available to start the programme from Wednesday 1 October 2025.
It is expected that all trainees will be trained in a department endorsed by the National School of Healthcare Science as an ETP training provider. Guidance for endorsement as an ETP provider is available or departments can contact the Accreditation Team at england.nshcs.accreditation@nhs.net.
