As part of our ‘Sharing Good Practice’ series we have three talks on approaches to the delivery of the STP.
Overview of STP training strategies
Annika Boloz, an STP Training Officer in Pharmaceutical Science at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, will share a range of strategies adopted to ensure trainee progression on the programme.
Drive to Thrive: Seeking balance and engagement in training activity
Mark Bowtell, an STP Training Officer in Clinical Engineering at Swansea Bay University Health Board NHS Wales, will be sharing some of his failures and successes in the last 10 years of STP supervision. Mark will cover: thinking about getting the balance right in competency activity, getting the best from the trainee and the drive to engage other professionals in supervision.
Need for Speed: A novel approach to reflection and assessment for first year rotations
Danielle Cartwright is a Practice Educator in Medical Physics based in the Southeast. She will be sharing the feedback from two large training centres on their experiences of implementing novel methods of reflective practice and training activity assessment styles. This aimed to both improve training quality and reduce the “training burden” – and be completed in 6 weeks!
