As part of our ‘Sharing Good Practice’ series we have talks by trainees on the Scientist Training Programme (STP). These talks are STP-focused. However, anyone with an interest in the topics are welcome to join us. The talks are as follows:

The STP experience as an In-service trainee

Morgan Strauss is entering the third year of the STP in Radiation Safety and Diagnostic Radiology. Morgan will be sharing her personal experience of transitioning from an established member of a team to a supernumerary trainee role, discussing the challenges and opportunities this has presented throughout the STP.

Getting involved in outreach from a trainee’s perspective

Georgia Arly is entering the third year of the STP in Nuclear Medicine. Georgia will be discussing the importance of outreach and the benefits of getting involved with it as a trainee, as well as her personal experiences with hosting a Medical Physics STP open day and various work experience students.

Identifying gaps, planning progress: a framework for professional development

Eda Kir is entering the second year of the STP in Haematology and Transfusion Science. Eda will be discussing how, with her trainer, she developed a framework for her own professional development.
