As part of our ‘Sharing Good Practice’ series we have talks by trainees on the Scientist Training Programme (STP). These talks are STP-focused. However, anyone with an interest in the topics is welcome to join us. The details of the talks are as follows:
Settling into the STP and navigating clinical rotations
Anna Battersby is entering the second year of the STP in Cardiac Science. Anna will focus on supporting new trainees settle into the STP by reflecting on her own experiences from her first year of training. Anna will share how to make the most of early stages of training, and practical tips and good practices for managing clinical rotations.
The benefits of networking during your training
Ella Brown is entering the second year of the STP in Clinical Engineering. Ella is also from the East Midlands Trainee Network and will explore the benefits of networking within your Trust and also your regional area to build professional relationships and connections to provide opportunities throughout your training.
Gaining experience as evidence for OneFile – preparing for and attending a conference
Emma Hesketh is entering the second year of the STP in Respiratory and Sleep Science. Emma’s talk will outline the steps in preparing to attend a conference and ways this can be approached in promoting good practice as a trainee. It will explore the fundamental skills acquired and how potential challenges can be overcome.
