As part of our ‘Sharing Good Practice’ series we have talks by trainees on the Higher Specialist Scientist Training (HSST) programme. These talks are HSST-focused. However, anyone with an interest in the topics is welcome to join us. The details of the talks are as follows:
Managing imposter feelings
Lucy Evans is a Principal Clinical Scientist in Radiotherapy Physics and a Consultant Clinical Scientist trainee. Lucy will be talking about how to manage imposter feelings and how to combat some of those moments.
Connections and networking – developing professional relationships
John Gallagher is a Clinical Scientist in Gastrointestinal Physiology and a Consultant Clinical Scientist trainee. John will be explaining the benefits of attending conferences and events, building professional connections, and the reasons why you can justify to your manager that having a chat is work!
Reflective practice and continuous improvement
Jade Cooper is a Clinical Scientist in Neurophysiology and a Consultant Clinical Scientist trainee. Jade’s talk will discuss reflective practice within the context of the clinical healthcare science domain, for example what can be learned through reflection including when things go wrong.
