Sharing Good Practice: Using Healthcare Science outreach to support STP Professional Foundations module

As part of our Sharing Good Practice series, we will be joined by Matthew Gardner, Clinical Scientist and Training Officer on the STP and two STP Radiation Safety trainees, Sophie Gibbins and Jose Ruben Mellon.

They will share how they approached developmental training activity (DTA) 10 ‘Engage with a public and/or patient audience to promote understanding of Healthcare Science, acting as an ambassador for Healthcare Science’ of the S-C1 Professional Foundations of Healthcare and Clinical Science module on the STP. This involved organising a careers event at a local school to celebrate International Day of Medical Physics 2024. Our speakers will explain how this was planned and what training and assessment opportunities the event provided for all STP trainees who were involved.
