STP open day for multiple specialties – Southampton

Are you a science graduate with a 2:1 degree or higher or are you about to complete a science degree and want to train to be a Clinical Scientist in the NHS?

UHS offer a range of programmes across the disciplines and invite interested people to see what we can offer. Here are the programmes we hope to offer for September 2025, subject to confirmation of funding by NHS England.

• Cardiac science
• Clinical bioinformatics genomics
• Clinical scientific computing
• Gastrointestinal physiology
• Genomic counselling
• Genomics
• Histopathology (in-service only)
• Microbiology
• Nuclear medicine
• Radiation safety
• Radiotherapy physics

The morning session of the online open day will include:

• A general overview of the Scientist Training Programme (STP).
• How UHS supports STP trainees to maximise their training.
• Presentations by past and present UHS scientist trainees.
• Questions and answers.

This session will have limited numbers therefore, first come, first served.

The afternoon will include visits to the departments’ via breakout rooms, with a maximum 2 areas per person. Please indicate on the application form which areas you wish to visit.
