NIHR Undergraduate Internship Programme open for applications

The scheme is designed to engage and attract students from underrepresented professions in the early stages of their academic studies to consider a career in health and social care research.

Up to 3 early career researchers (the lead applicant and, if applicable, co-applicant(s)) will have the opportunity to apply to host up to a maximum of 3 NIHR interns. They will gain hands-on experience through a fully funded and flexible placement in the area or discipline they are interested in pursuing. The placements last for any of the following:

  • 2 to 4 weeks
  • 4 to 6 weeks
  • 6 to 8 weeks
