The School is very proud to announce that STP trainees Natalie Wood, Sophie Ellis, Louise Baxandall and Mathew Baines are prize winners in this year’s Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) student competition. Natalie, Sophie and Louise are trainees in the Genomics specialism, while Matthew is in Clinical Bioinformatics – Genomics.

The competition was open to pre-registration students across all the HCPC’s regulated professions. This year’s topic was social media, and the task was to create a learning session for fellow students, which explores the risks and benefits of using social media in their practice as a health and care professional.

We are delighted with our trainee’s success and with their efforts to help their fellow trainees to learn more about the networking and learning opportunities that social media can provide, as well as the potential risks that might breach professional standards.
