Aims of the research

  1. To characterise CD34+ cord blood cell surface expression of several surface markers, including those that differentiate the stages of cell maturation and those involved in immune recognition.
  2. To understand the response of cord blood progenitor cells towards allogeneic granulocytes.
  3. To investigate the engraftment of CD8 positive lymphocytes in the first phase following transplantation.
