The School’s Accreditation Team are currently in the process of carrying out, the annual monitoring of accredited training departments for the Scientist Training Programme. The annual monitoring return is a requirement of a training department’s accredited status and if a return is not made, this can have an affect on their future accreditation status. It will also be taken into account when allocating the training contracts for the following year, following on from the Expressions of Interest process.

All departments accredited on or before 31st March 2020, are now being asked to complete and submit their monitoring form by Friday 4th December 2020. The online form should take approximately 20 minutes to complete and departments should notify the School of any changes that may influence or affect the delivery of training. This includes items such as:

  • Notification of any difficulties encountered in delivering the STP programme
  • Outcomes for trainee(s) who have completed the programme

Department’s must also inform the School of any staffing changes since their last accreditation. They can do this by completing the Education and Qualifications form, for any new staff who have a role in training. Also, any updates that have been made to the accreditation action plan, must be emailed to the Accreditation Team at nshcs.accreditation@hee.nhs.uk.
