Appeal for assessors for the Scientist Training Programme (STP) final assessment

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive approach to the recruitment to and assessment of the STP and would welcome applications from all appropriately qualified healthcare science specialties. This may be of particular interest if you are a recently qualified Clinical Scientist or professionally registered, with 2-3 years’ experience and looking to develop your skills and career.

Important information for STP final assessors

• There are 3 assessment diets for the STP final assessment held in Summer (the main presentation), Winter and Spring. The dates are published on the website a year in advance.
• The expected time commitment is 3 days maximum per interview panel, assessing 4 trainees per assessment diet plus one day training.
• Training is provided ahead of the first assessment. We will also provide refresher training and ongoing support and guidance. Assessor training dates for 2023 are listed below.
• Assessors do not receive a fee or salary, but we do reimburse all reasonable expenses as outlined in our Policy, where applicable.
• Participating as an assessor in the STP final assessment can be used as portfolio evidence for your continuing professional development professional body schemes.
