The awards have been set up to recognise the hard work and contributions made by EPAOs within the apprenticeship arena. This particular award acknowledges the excellence achieved by EPAOs via collaborative working over the past year.
The collaboration between NHS England NSHCS and NCFE saw both organisations combining their strengths to deliver high quality EPAs for the Level 4 Oral Health Practitioner standard successfully. The National School provided the highly specialist knowledge of the educational framework for training and development of healthcare scientists across more than 40 specialists and developed high quality assessment materials for the EPAs delivered by NCFE. This is a deep and meaningful partnership that supports the UK’s ambition to meet the future healthcare workforce needs and support vital NHS services across the nation.
The NSHCS EPA Manager said:
“We are delighted to receive this award and recognition alongside our NCFE colleagues. It represents what can be achieved when the public and private sector join together to demonstrate best practice for better educational outcomes for our apprentices, who are always at the heart of what we do.”
Sacha Finkle Director of Delivery at NCFE said:
“I am delighted to win this award for the second year running. NCFE pride ourselves on effective collaboration to ensure that all apprentices have access to high quality assessment materials and assessment service. This partnership with NHS England has provided access to assessment provision for a number of healthcare specialists that were at risk. We are very proud of what we have achieved together in such a short period of time and are really excited on what we can achieve together in the future.”
Recipients of the Federation of Awarding Bodies award for best collaboration are put forward as nominees for the FAB ‘EPAO of the Year’ award presented later this year.
