In service applications
In service applicants should speak to their NHS Wales service manager about the application process as an in service applicant in Wales. Commissioning requests for these places have already been submitted to Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW).
Application process and further details
Applications are welcome from anyone wishing to be employed in Wales during their STP training.
The entry requirements for STP Wales posts are the same as published on the National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS) website. Successful candidates for NHS Wales training places will access the full NSHCS Scientist Training Programme and Master’s degree with others across the UK.
Trainees are employed on a fixed term contract by an NHS Health Board or Trust in Wales. As with trainees in England, this is salaried at AfC Band 6 per annum.
Funding is provided by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) for:
- the salaried post in NHS Wales
- programme and university fees
- access to an additional bursary as required
