For many of you, the STP Final Year Assessment is now in progress. We expect results to be available in the week commencing Monday 11 August.

Opportunities still available to support the STP Induction 2025
We are currently planning the STP Induction 2025. As part of the agenda, we would like to offer trainees the opportunity to network with representatives from their host universities and the trainee networks. As a result, we are seeking representatives to join us on day 2 of the induction – Thursday 11 September from 12:15pm to 1pm.
As a trainee network representative, you will present the role of the regional networks and be available to answer questions about your trainee network and how new trainees can get involved.
We currently have no confirmed representation for the following trainee networks:
- East of England Regional Trainee Network
- North East Regional Trainee Network
- North West Regional Trainee Network
- Scotland Trainee Network
- South West Regional Trainee Network
- Wessex Regional Trainee Network

As a university trainee representative, you will be available to answer questions about studying at the university and share any advice or tips for the new trainees that will be attending this year.
We require trainee representation for the following universities:
- Queen Mary University
- Swansea University

STP Induction 2025
We are holding the Scientist Training Programme Induction online via Microsoft Teams. It will be held over 2 half-days:
- Day 1 – ‘Becoming a healthcare scientist’ will take place on Wednesday 10 September
- Day 2 – ‘Managing your programme’ will take place on Thursday 11 September
On both days the events will start at 9:30am and approximately finish at 1:15pm.
Trainees joining the STP in September will need to attend this key event as part of their induction to the training programme and will be invited once interviews have been completed and posts filled.
Are you interested in supporting the STP Induction 2025?
We recently reached out to professional bodies to provide representatives to join us on day 2 of the induction – Thursday 11 September 2025 from 12:15pm to 1pm. This will be an opportunity for trainees to network with relevant professional bodies and to hear about the benefits of joining and how they can get involved. The networking sessions will be held online and volunteers will be allocated their own networking space via a Microsoft Teams link.

- Association of Clinical Genomic Science (ACGS)
- Association of Neurophysiological Scientists (ANS)
- Association of Reproductive and Clinical Scientists (ARCS)
- British Blood Transfusion Society
- British Sleep Society (BSS)
- British Society for Immunology
- Society for Radiological Protection (SRP)
- British Nuclear Medicine Society
- Institute of Maxillofacial Prosthetists and Technologists (IMPT)

STP Induction for new trainers

If you are new to the role of STP training officer, you are expected to attend an induction webinar which will introduce you to the programme and your responsibilities.
