Current estimates of patient dose from a 18F-FDG PET/CT scan calculate an approximate effective dose of 7.6mSv for a standard sized patient administered with 400MBq of 18F-FDG. However, this doesn’t account for modern weight-based administration techniques (where patient size accounts for differences in the quantity of administered radioactivity) or for patient size. This study aims to investigate the relationship between patient size, administered activity and estimated effective dose.
