What's next for the curriculum review?

Throughout January, we’ll be asking stakeholders for feedback on the drafts of the new curriculum content. We will be starting with the core curriculum, followed by the specialty curricula.

We’re asking stakeholders to take a look at the curriculum and provide feedback through a survey that should take around an hour. Feedback will inform the final curricula and will help to shape the future of the Scientist Training Programme.

Further information about the stakeholder review process and links to provide feedback can be found on the Curriculum Tracker.

The Scientist Training Programme curriculum content review resumes

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic we recently had to pause the STP curriculum content review, which was started in 2019. We are very pleased to announce that as of September 2020, the review has resumed. We want to say thank you to everyone who kept in touch while the review was paused and has now rejoined the process.

Delivery of the revised curricula will begin in 2022, and trainees entering the programme from September 2022 will follow the revised curriculum. This will allow time for workplaces and HEI’s to plan to accommodate any changes to delivery, where required by the new content, with support from the School.

The review process will continue to draft content in the interim, and we anticipate a peer review of the developing curriculum content will begin in the next few months.
