How to meet the required knowledge
Depending on the apprenticeship you are undertaking, there are different elements which you will need to pass which are designed to ensure you meet all the required knowledge, behaviour and skill-based criteria as set out in the standard. The rules surrounding each of the core assessment elements differ from standard to standard. We recommend that you to read through the relevant standard assessment breakdown.
externalHow to reach your End-point Assessment
Your End-point Assessment must be delivered by an independent Registered Apprentice Assessment Organisation (RAAO) and not the training provider or employer. To successfully reach your End-point Assessment you will have completed the following:
- start your apprenticeship with your employer and be supported by your training provider
- have initial assessments with your training provider
- plan how to progress with your learning with your training provider based on the results of your initial assessments
- complete the required educational elements within the standards as listed above
When your employer and training provider agree you are ready and have achieved what is required to proceed to your End-point Assessment, they will send us your gateway evidence together with a request for your EPA to take place. You will then sit your End-point Assessment which will consist of a Vocational Competence Observation (VCO), a Professional Practice Test (PPT), and a Professional Discussion (PD).
What happens once we receive your Gateway Evidence and EPA request?
We would expect to receive a EPA request with Gateway Evidence approximately eight weeks before the assessment is required. Once we have received a request the following will occur:
- the EPA Service will check the Gateway Evidence
- an assessor will be allocated by the School
- the assessor will contact the employer to make the visit arrangements
- the EPA is delivered
- the process is quality assured
- the results of the EPA are shared with you and your employer
