Rotation would be required between Blackpool and Preston Hospitals.

Travel requirements and overnight stays are required for academic attendance. Other travel commitments will be restricted to Bristol where possible.
Haematology and Transfusion Science – University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust
Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS) is located across sites at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), George Eliot in Nuneaton and South Warwick Hospital. The post-holder will have a base site but may be required to rotate to gain exposure to the full specialist services across the network.
CWPS is part of a wider Pathology network, Midlands and East 4 (South Midlands Pathology Network) with Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust and Wye Valley NHS Trust. There may be opportunity to visit/rotate across these services also to gain even wider exposure and experience on how different local services operate.

Haematology and Transfusion Science – University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
The post is based at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, a busy teaching hospital which offers great training opportunities. The clinical training attachments are available largely on site at the Leicester Royal Infirmary but also there are smaller laboratory services at the Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital where you will also visit. The large Haematology department hosts clinical scientist trainees as well as medical trainees and there is a strong laboratory training ethos. There are close working relationships across departments. Within Pathology there are a number of STPs in training at any one time. We have a consultant Clinical Scientist in post who undertook the STP training programme and so is experienced and knowledgeable about the training requirements and support needed.
Haematology and Transfusion Science – Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust – the candidate would be based site at Worcestershire Royal Hospital but would also rotate to experience the blood science services at Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. There will likely also be opportunities to visit/rotate within the wider South Midlands Pathology network (Wye Valley NHS Trust and sites at Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (including University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), George Eliot in Nuneaton and South Warwick Hospital) to gain even wider exposure and experience on how different local services operate.
Haematology and Transfusion Science – York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Although the trainee will be employed by York Teaching Hospital, they will be primarily based at the Hull Royal Infirmary Laboratory in Hull as part of the Scarborough, Hull and York Pathology Service network. There will be occasional requirements to visit the Castle Hill Hospital laboratory and haematology clinical settings. There will also be a requirement to travel to Leeds for some aspects of the training at the Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service and NHS Blood Transfusion Service in Barnsley.
