The Lancashire Cardiac Centre is a tertiary cardiac provider for the people of Lancashire and Cumbria, a population of 1.6 million. Our mission is to improve the health/quality of life for our patients by building an organisation that develops and invests in the individuals that work here and this can only be achieved with the recruitment of the right people. The centre has well-established invasive and non-invasive services covering a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, these include; Cardiac angiography & intervention, including Primary PCI, TAVI, ASD/PFO closure, device implants including ICD’s and CRT’s, device follow-ups, EP simple and complex, including NAVX, PVAC and CRYO. Echocardiography, including TOE, contract/bubble and DSE. All these areas are developing rapidly with new technology.

STP trainees will be based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital for all 3 years of the program, however they may be required to visit over centres to complete rotational placements in the first year.
