Neurophysiology – Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) hosts one of the largest Neurophysiology units in the UK. Based across 4 of the hospital sites with departments in Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital and the North Manchester Hospital sites. All site departments work together as a single service under the Neurophysiology Directorate, with physiologists rotating across sites where necessary.

Neurophysiology – Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust
Clinical Neurophysiology is based at the Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) Campus, approximately two miles from Nottingham City Centre. The majority of training will be delivered at this site but some travel to City Campus will be required. There is currently a free bus service that runs between sites. QMC is home to the University of Nottingham Medical School, with access to the medical school library. The main university campus is close by, with access to other libraries. Hospital library facilities are available on both campuses.

Neurophysiology – Somerset NHS Foundation Trust
This post will be based at Musgrove Park Hospital although the trainee will be required to travel to Yeovil District Hospital occasionally. The department is forward thinking offering a broad scope of neurophysiological tests and training and supervision by expert staff. We are a team of one Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist and 7 Scientists and are very proud of our team and the quality of our work.

Neurophysiology – University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
UCLH provides excellent training opportunities, with the trainee based in the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) in Queen Square. Paediatric training is between Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College Hospital (UCH) which are in the same building complex and in walking distance, respectively. Community-based care experience is within London and the Cardiac Science rotation is hosted by Barts Health NHS Trust London – both accessible by train from NHNN. All other non-neurophysiology training activities will be between NHNN and UCH sites. We have close links with the Institute of Neurology for educational and research opportunities. The Department encourages active participation at internal and external scientific meetings and supports this activity through departmental bursaries.

Neurophysiology – University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
Trainees are based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham where all aspects of training is provided. Opportunities to work with other Trusts can be arranged to receive a wider breadth of experience. Good transport links are available to all sites and other local trusts.

Neurophysiology – University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
The Neurophysiology Department, based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, is a regional service undertaking a wide range of Neurophysiological investigations including; EEG, Sleep EEG, Ambulatory EEG, Paediatric video-telemetry, Portable EEG, Physiologist led CTS screening and Evoked
Potentials. Cross site working and some clinical placements may be at Glenfield Hospital and Leicester General Hospital sites and can be easily accessed for free on the hospital hopper bus.
