At Barts Health Vascular Lab, you will be working across 2 hospital sites with modern Vascular Lab facilities, Royal London Hospital in East London and St Bartholomew’s Hospital in the City. You may occasionally need to travel between the sites in the same day (there are good transport links including the new Elizabeth line).
We are a team of 7 part time Vascular Scientists and one full time administrator. We take one Vascular Science STP trainee at any one time, to allow sufficient training time. Although the STP has one dedicated supervisor, the whole team are involved with the training. There will be opportunities for training at other London Hospitals. The DVT component of the course is usually performed at another Trust, as DVT scans are not performed by the Vascular Lab at our Trust. Aside from DVT scanning, we perform an extensive range of advanced Vascular duplex scans, including fistula, renal artery, TCD and microvascular examinations.
