Respiratory and Sleep Science – Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust

The paediatric respiratory department at the Royal Brompton Hospital is a large multidisciplinary team working with children and young people with respiratory and sleep disorders. As a tertiary centre, we see a varied workload including patients with conditions like cystic fibrosis and severe therapy resistant asthma. As respiratory and sleep physiologists, we run full sleep diagnostics, and standard and specialised lung function testing.

We have strong links with our colleagues in the Royal Brompton adult lung function laboratory, adult sleep lab, and physiologists in other settings across the wider Guys and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust, which we are part of. This allows our STP trainees to complete their full range of competencies.

We are a small team with an interesting and varied workload, in a department with a strong culture of research and educational activities
