Clinical Engineering – Northern Training Consortium
The NTC is a well-established training consortium of 8 Trusts in the North East and North Cumbria, working together to deliver high quality training in the Physical Sciences. We currently have 29 STP trainees in the region, an experienced workplace training team including a dedicated training co-ordinator, and a trainee network providing peer support. The NTC has a strong record of keeping STP trainees in the region once qualified.
This Clinical Engineering post will be mainly based in Newcastle upon Tyne, but the trainee will be expected to travel elsewhere within the NTC region for some training activities.

Medical Physics – Northern Training Consortium

The NTC has a strong record of keeping STP trainees in the region once qualified.
These Medical Physics Undefined posts will include year 1 rotations in Newcastle upon Tyne and elsewhere in the NTC region (e.g. Carlisle, Durham, Gateshead, Middlesbrough, Sunderland). Location will be fixed for the specialism years.
The NTC offers training in all 4 medical physics specialisms, but the number of places in each specialism and their location may be limited by capacity in any given year.

Radiation Safety and Diagnostic Radiology – Northern Training Consortium

This Radiation Safety and Diagnostic Radiology post will be mainly based at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, but the trainee will be expected to travel to other locations within the NTC (e.g. Durham, Gateshead, Sunderland, Carlisle and Middlesbrough) for some year 1 rotations and other training activities.

During the specialism years this Radiotherapy Physics post will be mainly based in Carlisle, at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care in North Cumbria. Some year 1 rotations will be based in Newcastle upon Tyne and/or other locations within the NTC (e.g. Durham, Gateshead, Sunderland, and Middlesbrough).
