Histopathology – University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust
Coventry & Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS) is a large pathology network. The Histology laboratories are based at Coventry and Warwick. We provide diagnostic service for a population of ~1 million and process over 30,000 cases per year. We have well established digital slide scanning on both sites including screening cases alongside an ever-expanding large repertoire of immunohistochemistry and molecular testing in-house. The candidate will be primarily based in Histopathology department at University Hospital Coventry and work closely with the Senior Biomedical Scientists and Consultant Histopathologists to specialise in specimen dissection. As our regions cancer centre, we receive complex cancer resections from a variety of specialities. Opportunities to gain experience in other areas of histopathology are available through rotations in different sections of the laboratory and to other neighbouring hospitals. There will be a requirement to travel to South Warwick Hospital to gain exposure to the full services across the network.
The candidate will be released from service duties, as appropriate, to undertake his/her education and training, and will be supported by the department to undertake the academic and work based training requirements.
