Clinical Engineering – East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust
Clinical Engineering at East Kent Hospitals is based in Canterbury, and our Trust runs a hopper bus service for staff to travel to the other main sites.
We are able to offer rigorous training and experience in Medical Device Risk Management and Governance, and in Assistive Technology Assessment and Provision.
Our wider Trust is very welcoming of trainees wishing to gain experience in Medical Device Management and Maintenance, Nuclear Medicine, Radiological Physics, Cardiology, Respiratory Sciences, and Audiology.
You will be supported to travel to other NHS Trusts nationally for placements in areas that we are not able to offer locally, such as Clinical Scientific Computing, Medical Device Design, and other aspects of Rehabilitation Engineering and Physiological Measurements that you may wish to gain experience in.

Clinical Engineering – Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
The Clinical Engineering Department provides a comprehensive medical equipment management service across Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, covering the City Road main site and all Moorfields network sites.
The trainee will be based primarily at the City Road site, where the main Clinical Engineering workshops and offices are located. Please note that the City Road site is planned to relocate to a newly built facility from 2027, near Kings Cross Station, London.
The trainee will be expected to travel regularly to other Moorfields network sites as part of their training, offering exposure to a wide range of clinical environments and medical technologies. Travel between sites is routine and sites are generally well served by public transport.
The trainee will have access to fully equipped workshops, a wide range of ophthalmic medical devices, and experienced Clinical Engineers and Clinical Scientists for supervision and support.

Virtual information sessions may also be offered to provide an overview of the role and training programme for those unable to attend in person.

Clinical Engineering – Northern Training Consortium
The Northern Training Consortium (NTC) is a well-established training consortium of 8 Trusts in the North East and North Cumbria, working together to deliver high quality training in the Physical Sciences. We currently have 32 STP trainees in the region, an experienced workplace training team including a dedicated training co-ordinator and a practice educator, and a trainee network providing peer support. The NTC has a strong record of keeping STP trainees in the region once qualified.
These Clinical Engineering posts will be mainly based in Newcastle upon Tyne, but the appointees will be expected to travel within the NTC region for some training activities.

Clinical Engineering – Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust
The trainee will be based in the Clinical Engineering office in the historic North Block at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. In order to complete rotations, there will be travel required to Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust who are part of our consortium. The trainee will have access to all Trust facilities including: A wellbeing centre which contains a small gym and quiet spaces. Online wellbeing support including a seasonal self-help publication and a well provisioned Employee Assistance Programme. We are part of an active STP Network within the consortium which provides social and academic advantages.

Clinical Engineering – St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Your training will take place at St. George’s and at Queen Mary’s Roehampton. You will usually share time between the two sites for the duration of the programme (Public transport bus goes between both). All parts of the curriculum can be delivered by the Trust or by local arrangement with a partner hospital in London.
