Pharmaceutical Science – Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
The trainee will support the delivery of a diverse range of services in the following facilities:
- Unlicensed units for aseptic preparation and quality assurance (QA) of injectable medicines such as chemotherapy
- MHRA licensed units for: the preparation and QA of aseptic (including radiopharmaceutical), sterile, and non-sterile medicinal products; and quality control (QC) testing
Facilities delivering MGPS-QC services. - The post will primarily be based at Bradford Royal Infirmary (QA/QC and Radiopharmacy), St Luke’s Hospital, Bradford (Aseptics) and Huddersfield Pharmacy Specials (Production).
Some time will also be spent at Airedale General Hospital and other external sites to gain the necessary training. Trainees will be expected to make their own travel between sites- there are good transport links to each of these and they are a commutable distance from Bradford.

Pharmaceutical Science – Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
Trainees will work at the following locations within Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust; Leeds General Infirmary, St. James’s University Hospital and the pharmacy manufacturing unit and QA/QC department in Hunslet, Leeds. There are good transport links to all locations. Trainees are responsible for organising their own travel arrangements across the different locations.

Pharmaceutical Science – Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust
We are looking for a passionate STP Trainee in Pharmaceutical Science to join our Aseptic Services Unit at Salford Royal Hospital (SRH). You’ll be part of a dynamic team delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services to patients.
The Aseptic Unit at SRH is part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) and prepares aseptic products under both, Section 10 of the Medicines Act 1968 and a Manufacturer’s specials license from the MHRA.
The Northern Care Alliance (NCA) is one of the largest NHS organisations in the country. A place of science, innovation and transformational thinking, the Diagnostic and Pharmacy Group unites Radiology, Pathology and Pharmacy services across the NCA to create a cooperative group committed to delivering safe, consistent, and high-quality care.
The post holder will be predominantly based at Salford Royal Hospital located in Manchester, travel to other sites will only be required during placements.

Pharmaceutical Science – Northern Training Consortium (Newcastle upon Tyne)
The Northern Training Consortium (NTC) is a well-established training consortium of 8 Trusts in the North East and North Cumbria, working together to deliver high quality training in the Physical Sciences. We currently have 32 STP trainees in the region, an experienced workplace training team including a dedicated training co-ordinator and a practice educator, and a trainee network providing peer support. The NTC has a strong record of keeping STP trainees in the region once qualified.
This Pharmaceutical Science post will be mainly based in Newcastle upon Tyne, but the appointee will be expected to travel within the NTC region for some training activities.

- Medicines Manufacturing Centre, Seaton Delaval
The appointees will be expected to undertake rotations at these sites and may also make short visits to other locations for specific training activities. Three of the training posts will be mainly based in the Tees Valley and two at the Medicines Manufacturing Centre.

Pharmaceutical Science – Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust
The trainee will primarily be based at Queen’s Medical Centre campus of NUH NHS Trust where they’ll be involved with Quality Assurance, Quality Control (chemistry and microbiology laboratories), Production (Sterile, Non-Sterile) and Radiopharmacy. Occasional travelling may be required to another site within the Trust (City Hospital, Nottingham) as and when required to gain experience related to cytotoxic chemotherapy manufacturing. Travelling between the two sites is free via Medilink service (upon display of Trust issued ID card).

Pharmaceutical Science – United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust
Our Trust is situated in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire and is one of the biggest acute hospital Trusts in England, serving a population of more than 700,000 people. We provide acute and specialist services to people in Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties.
You will be based between the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit at the Lincoln Science and Innovation Park (LSIP) and the Radiopharmacy Department at the Lincoln County Hospital. The sites have good transport links and are within a 30-minute walking distance.
LSIP is within walking distance from the Lincoln bus and train station. Within a one-mile radius of the facility, you can enjoy Lincoln’s Cathedral quarter with its medieval buildings, pubs, cafes and cobbled streets, waterfront home to a cinema multiplex, restaurants, hotels and bars, the main High Street shopping district and the city’s cultural quarter.

Pharmaceutical Science – University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust
Trainees will be based at Queen’s Hospital, Burton upon Trent. In order to complete all required rotations, travel will be required across the Midlands. There are limited public transportation options between the different hospital locations.
Currently the Production, Quality Assurance and Quality Control elements are covered at the Queen’s Hospital Burton Site, whilst the Radiopharmacy and Aseptics elements are covered at University Hospitals Birmingham (Queen Elizabeth Hospital) and University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire (University Hospital, Coventry) respectively.
