Health services laboratories are part of the London Microbiology Consortium
Based at one of Europe’s largest pathology laboratories in central London, the Halo building is a flagship laboratory for Sonic Healthcare UK. We are a joint venture partnering with Royal Free and University College Hospital NHS Trusts. We provide pathology services for Whittington, Moorfield’s Eye and Royal National Orthopaedic hospitals as well as other clinical centres. We offer exposure to a wide range of clinical settings including solid organ transplant, haematology, respiratory, infectious diseases, sexual health and paediatrics.
Our laboratory includes:
- An advanced Virology department offering a range of molecular diagnostic assay including Next Generation Sequencing.
- Microbiology including AI, automation and molecular diagnostics.
- HTD: the UK reference laboratory for parasitology.
- An advanced regional Mycology unit.
The rotations will require travel between the laboratory, associated hospitals and clinical settings. We are part of the London Microbiology consortium and work with UCL, UKHSA, GOSH and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Local promotion details for post(s): We would be happy to support a visit to the laboratory to meet the team.
