Based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH). The trainee will be expected to travel to Papworth Hospital for the sleep placement. Everything else is covered at the NNUH. Barring cardiac surgery, we offer most cardiology services. We are one of the largest pacemaker centres in the country using lots of innovative technology. We are also hold an ACHD echo service.

Haematology and Transfusion Science – Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
The Eastern Pathology Alliance is formed from three Pathology Laboratories based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), the James Paget University Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn. The Laboratory at NNUH provides a large range of Blood Sciences services comprising Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Transfusion, Immunology and Toxicology.
We have an exciting opportunity to provide support for an STP trainee in haematology and transfusion covering our network. This role is key to the development of an established role in haematology and transfusion for a clinical scientist. The training will provide a comprehensive overview of laboratory haematology and transfusion practise to build a foundation required to develop a clinical laboratory role to support many of the critical functions of laboratories traditionally covered by consultant haematologists. These include providing advice and clinical guidance to other clinicians regarding haematology and transfusion practises and, essential elements of quality management.

Trainee will be based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, but will be expected to travel to Cromer Hospital sometimes. Buses run regularly to and from the hospital, there’s also a free park and ride for hospital staff. For the sleep competencies you will need to travel to Papworth Hospital
