Audiology – Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust
We provide a comprehensive audiology service. Our adult service includes the fitting of routine and non-routine hearing aids, complex diagnostics, vestibular assessment, hearing therapy and tinnitus management. Our paediatric service includes assessing babies referred from the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme, behavioural and objective assessment of children and the habilitation of children with hearing loss. We have an auditory implant programme where we assess patients’ suitability for Cochlear Implants, Bone Anchored Hearing Aids and rehabilitation of this.
You would be joining a large team comprising of Clinical Scientists, audiologists, assistant audiologists and administrative colleagues. We have significant experience of training including; apprenticeships, PTP, STP, and we have a designated Audiology Training Lead. The service has undergone significant development, and we are working towards IQIPS accreditation.
You will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, although occasional travel to clinics across Oxfordshire may be required. The department offers flexible working.

Cancer Genomics – Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust
Oxford Genetics Laboratory is based at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford and is part of the Central and South GLH. Where training is delivered in one of the Oxford Trust Hospitals there are good transport links but also each hospital providing training is within walking distance of each other. A proportion of specialist training will be delivered at one of the other laboratories in the GLH and therefore travel will be expected, timings of these visits will be communicated once in post but there is some flexibility.
Although the laboratory supports working from home, trainees are expected to be on site for >=75% of their working week to maximise the benefit of training delivery.

Clinical Biochemistry – Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust
The Oxford University Hospitals’ Department of Clinical Biochemistry serves the whole of Oxfordshire and receives samples from over 4,000 patients daily, and it also serves as a hub for maternal and neonatal screening for the county and beyond. In Oxford, you will learn about the various automated and manual analytical techniques in use, and will have opportunity to attend formal and informal educational seminars, meetings and clinical case discussions in the main John Radcliffe Hospital site, where you will be based.
Trainee clinical scientists are well supported by the scientific, laboratory and medical personnel in the department. All first year rotations (Haematology, Immunology and Genetics) will be based in Oxford. Additional specialist training in paediatric biochemistry, toxicology and trace element analyses will be by periods of secondment at specialist centres away from Oxford.

Clinical Immunology – Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust
The trainee will be based in the Immunology Laboratory at the Churchill Hospital but will travel to the John Radcliffe Hospital to attend Immunology clinics. There is a short walk or shuttle bus journey between sites.
We provide comprehensive specialist training within the laboratory, with the opportunity to visit other hospitals for specialist modules in Year 3. The trainee will work and train with a multidisciplinary team of Consultant and Clinical Scientists, Biomedical Scientists, support staff and clinicians. The Trust hosts a strong and supportive network of Clinical Scientist trainees, with regular cross-specialty meetings and peer support.

Medical Physics (undefined) – Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust
Oxford University Hospitals offers training principally based at the Churchill and John Radcliffe Hospitals. Some training takes place at other nearby hospitals. For further information about the Department please visit: https://www.ouh.nhs.uk/medphys. We are a large teaching hospital with close links to the University of Oxford. We currently have 12 medical physics STPs in the department.
The final allocation of medical physics specialism is made by the end of the rotational placements and is based on three criteria: trainee choice, training capacity, and workforce requirements. Specialisms offered are Radiotherapy Physics, Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Safety and Diagnostic Radiology.

Respiratory and Sleep Science – Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust
The post is within the ringroad of Oxford City and is based primarily at the Churchill Hospital but with placements at the John Radcliffe when attending the first year Cardiac, Neurology, and Critical Care placements.
