Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated trainee to join our Blood Sciences team at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

The training post is primarily based within our purpose-built multidisciplinary laboratory, where biochemistry, haematology/transfusion and immunology rotations will be completed. We have a specialised laboratory for the regional antenatal/newborn screening programmes and utilise a wide range of analytical techniques including LCMS/MS. To complete some of the specialist competencies, you will be required to undertake rotations at Salisbury (Genetics) and Southampton (Specialist metabolic/paediatric biochemistry), gaining exposure to a broad diagnostic scope.

The department is experienced in delivering the STP and has a friendly and supportive team. There will also be opportunities to attend ward rounds, observe clinics and attend MDT meetings.
