You will be based at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford but will be expected to travel between there and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as well as to community and outreach locations in order to experience as much of the service as possible during your training. Rotation modules will involve further travel, including to Wolverhampton.

Cardiac Science – Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust

The STP trainee in Cardiac Science will be based across The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, working at both Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. The trainee will be expected to travel between the two sites as part of their rotational training; the hospitals are well connected by road, with staff parking available at both locations. The trainee will gain exposure to a broad range of cardiac physiology services, with training opportunities tailored to service provision, including echocardiography and cardiac rhythm management.

Site-specific facilities include a cardiac catheterisation lab for diagnostic angiography and device implants alongside dedicated non-invasive diagnostic areas. The Trust offers a supportive learning environment with access to experienced clinical scientists, physiologists, and multidisciplinary cardiac teams across both hospital sites.
