This post will be based at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. The trainee will be expected to independently travel to different hospital sites, both within the Trust and to other hospitals as part of our wider partnership working arrangements, including (but not limited to) Oxford and Birmingham.

Radiotherapy Physics – Somerset NHS Foundation Trust
This post will be primarily based at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. Musgrove Park Hospital provides a cutting-edge radiotherapy service for Taunton and surrounding area, including an established SABR programme and SGRT. We operate a modern fleet of three Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators (installed 2019-20) with Align RT SGRT system, a Canon Aquilion LB CT simulator and an Xstrahl 200 superficial therapy unit. We have MVision auto-contouring software and are in the process of commissioning the RayStation treatment planning system.
The Southwest has an excellent training network, providing opportunities for learning, support, and socialising throughout the training experience. We collaborate with other centres in the Southwest to give the full breadth of learning experiences, including the brachytherapy portion of the radiotherapy specialism, both hosted externally. The nuclear medicine rotation will be hosted by University Hospitals Bristol and Weston. The academic component of the training is taught at Liverpool University.
