Radiotherapy Physics – The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, delivering a comprehensive range of external beam radiotherapy, HDR brachytherapy, Papillon contact radiotherapy, advanced radiotherapy techniques, and low-energy proton beam therapy for rare eye cancers.
Your training and development will take place at our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool and our hospital on the Wirral Clatterbridge Health Park. These are well connected by Merseytravel rail and bus links, and have changing rooms, showers, and bike storage facilities for cyclists. You will also undertake the complementary academic master’s programme at the University of Liverpool, a short walk from the Liverpool hospital site.
The physics department at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is committed to providing a high-quality training experience to Trainee Healthcare Scientists, including support from a designated Training Officer as you progress towards registration as a Clinical Scientist.
Local promotion details for post(s): A virtual open day, arranged by our current Trainee Clinical Scientists, was held prior to the application cycle in November 2025. The slides for this are available on request.
