University Hospitals Sussex is one of the largest NHS hospital Trusts in the south of England, with 7 hospitals across Brighton & Hove and West Sussex. The STP direct entry posts will be based at Royal Sussex County Hospital.
The Royal Sussex County Hospital is based in central Brighton. The posts are based in the Cardiac Diagnostics department. The trainees will be expected to travel between the site in Brighton and the department at Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath). Travel to Haywards Heath is approximately 1-2 days per week and there is a free bus for travel between sites.

University Hospitals Sussex is one of the largest NHS hospital Trusts in the south of England, with 7 hospitals across Brighton & Hove and West Sussex.
Worthing Hospital is based centrally in Worthing. The posts are based in the Cardiac Investigations Department. Some rotations may require the trainee to travel further afield. On-site accommodation is limited and short-term only.
These training posts are for the Echocardiography specialism in Cardiac Science.

Nuclear Medicine – University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust
STP Nuclear Medicine Physics post in Brighton (Royal Sussex County Hospital). Join a friendly and supportive team 6 full-time clinical scientists and 2 NM Physics specialism trainees in our new state of-the-art hospital facility. We have a full range of equipment, including PET/CT, SPECT/CT (including solid state systems), dedicated cardiac camera, gamma counters and a brand new radiopharmacy.
Inpatient and outpatient molecular radiotherapies are conducted here (I-131, Ra-223, Lu-177) as well as opportunities to get involved in research projects.
Mainly based in Brighton (5 minutes from the beach!) we also operate at other hospital sites across the region (Haywards Heath, Eastbourne and St Leonards). Travel is typically by car share, though all sites are accessible by public transport.
Core working hours are 9-5 (negotiable) but clinical needs may occasionally require reasonable flexibility. We have a strong track record of successfully training STP students and look forward to your application.

Radiation Safety and Diagnostic Radiology – University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust
This post will be based in Brighton at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. Join a friendly and supportive team of 6 full-time RP/DR clinical scientists and 2 DR/RP Physics specialism trainees in our state of-the-art hospital facility. We have a full range of equipment, including CT, bi-plane neuro, interventional, cardiac, c-arms, an O-arm as well as the usual digital radiology systems.
Mainly based in Brighton (5 minutes from the beach!) we also operate at other hospital sites across the region (Haywards Heath, Eastbourne, St Leonards and Benenden). Travel is typically by car share, though nearly all sites are accessible by public transport.
Core working hours are 9am to 5pm which may be negotiable and clinical needs may occasionally require reasonable flexibility. We have a strong track record of successfully training STP students.

Respiratory and Sleep Science – University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust
The post will be based primarily in the newly built Louisa Martindale Building at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, with additional clinics held at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath. The role focuses mainly on adult patients, supporting the complex breathlessness pathways, our Tier 3 Asthma Service, and contributing to a large interstitial lung disease service; and also contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with obstructive sleep apnoea. There is also an opportunity to support paediatric respiratory and sleep physiology at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital if desired.
