Lisa trained as a Clinical Scientist in Clinical Immunology and worked in the Oxford Immunology Laboratory for 14 years. During this time, she undertook a part-time PhD funded by the NIHR, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in inflammatory marker in cardiovascular disease. She obtained her Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists through examination and she has been a CSO WISE Fellow, co-chair of the Immunology Professional Committee and chair of the RCPath Healthcare Science Committee.
As a senior lecturer and clinical academic in the NHS, Lisa has always been passionate about the training and education of Healthcare Scientists. Her role as HSST Training Programme Director includes supporting and advising HSST trainees and workplace supervisors, producing guidance and policies, strategic development of the programme and working with MAHSE on the academic aspects of HSST. As Interim Head of the NSHCS, Lisa is excited to be leading a strong, supportive and innovative team in the delivery and development of Healthcare Science training programmes.
