The National School of Healthcare Science is delighted to welcome colleagues from the National Genetics and Genomics Education Centre (NGGEC) who have merged with us to to develop a national resource for the implementation of HEE’s strategy for education in genomics for all healthcare professionals.

Both the School and the NGGEC have delivered and developed significant genetics educational resources for healthcare scientists and all staff involved in healthcare.

As recommended in the Human Genome Strategy Report; Building on our Inheritance – Genomic Technology in Healthcare 2012, the Department of Health has facilitated the merger.

This is an exciting time of growth for the School and we look forward to working with our new colleagues. Our combined resource will support the development of education and training interventions in genomics for the whole of the healthcare workforce.
