Population Health Fellowship

Health Education England is launching a one-year pilot in population health, targeted at healthcare workers in the NHS. The pilot aims to develop and grow a workforce of professionals who will incorporate population health into their everyday jobs and will ultimately add to the ever-growing group of population health workforce from multiple disciplines.

Population health skills are highly sought after, the Fellows will be part of a group of professions that will encourage and support the development of Public Health approaches within the NHS and wider community.

Applications are now open and close on midnight on Friday 4 October.

The pilot will start in 2020 and will run for 12 months. It is expected that the fellows will be seconded to the fellowship part-time (1 – 2 days a week) running alongside their permanent post.

The Population Health Fellows will be placed with local organisations to work on projects addressing population health and will be encouraged and supported in the development of Public Health Approach within the NHS and wider community. The allocation of fellows to healthcare organisations will be dependant on the project s that the fellows are assigned to. The pilot will involve a mixture of blended learning and contact days.
