About the role

The purpose of the Curriculum Lead Editor is to provide scientific leadership on specialty curricula, ensuring curricula are scientifically robust and reflect current and future clinical practice. As a Lead Editor you will be required to engage with the School’s curriculum processes to ensure curricula are fit for delivery.

Lead Editors will:

  • draw on their own expertise and knowledge of current and future practice in the specialty
  • draw on expertise within the wider community where needed
  • provide scientific leadership, setting the direction for curricula according to the needs of the specialty within healthcare science and the wider healthcare environment
  • be responsible for the timely review and development of curriculum content according to the School’s curriculum processes

This role could be shared between two candidates.

Person specification

To be considered for the role you must hold appropriate registration, such as Clinical Scientist or be of equivalent standing within the profession, and hold BSE TTE level 2 accreditation. You need to be currently practicing in Echocardiography with a minimum of three years post registration experience and you should have knowledge of School programmes and career pathways for Healthcare Scientists.
