About the Graduate Diploma in Respiratory Science

Level 6 training in Healthcare Science is via the Practitioner Training Programme (PTP). This programme offers a shortened timescale for trainees who have a relevant, cognate undergraduate degree.

text

The programme integrates academic teaching of clinical and professional modules from the Practitioner Training Programme (PTP) with the appropriate work-based training over 1 year, allowing a fast, quality assured scheme up-skilling trainees to become equivalent to graduates of the PTP. The PTP is a full-time, 3 year, undergraduate degree allowing students to develop the necessary skills and experience to work as a Healthcare Science Practitioner on graduation.

By increasing the workforce at this level, this would also allow further development of current experienced Respiratory Physiologists to support efforts to increase and retain the workforce at more advanced levels.

Training grants and academic fees will be provided to employers.

Which universities will trainees attend?

Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) and the University of West England (UWE) are the academic providers for this course.
