Information for trainees
Use of AI and Turnitin with training activity evidence and reflections
AI can be a great tool to stimulate learning, but it should not be used to generate evidence for, or reflections about, training activities.
We have received reports of an increase in AI-generated content in STP trainee submissions, including those by trainees completing their rotational modules and submitting reflections. All of your evidence and reflections must be authentic and created by yourself, in line with the NSHCS work-based assessment standards and the HCPC Standards of Conduct, which emphasise honesty and integrity.
Read our guidance on the consequences of using AI to generate evidence for training activities.
Additionally, it is every trainee’s responsibility to complete a Turnitin check on every document uploaded in every submission in OneFile. A Turnitin report must be generated and reviewed and any high similarity or AI writing scores will need to be explained and defended to trainers assessing your work.
