We are delighted to share with you that the adverts for the Genomics Training Academy (GTAC) professional lead and education specialist roles are now live.

The GTAC is an innovative national initiative, led by NHSE’s Genomics Education and Genomic Unit teams with support of the wider system, to provide education and training (initially) to the specialist genomics workforce. The recruitment to GTAC is being led out of Central and South GLH.
As of 4 April, the Professional Lead (x4) and Education Specialist (x5) roles, sitting within the GTAC Education Faculty, are open to applications. Closing dates for applications are the 27th April. Other roles, including those within the GTAC operations team, will be advertised imminently.
Professional Lead Band 9 2 year secondment PT (0.2-0.6 WTE) |
Provide strategic leadership and represent the interests of their profession at national, regional, and local level both within the senior GTAC governance structure and externally to relevant stakeholders. Four roles available, laboratory, bioinformatics, genetic counselling and clinical genetics. |
Education Specialist Band 8a 2 year secondment PT (0.4 WTE) |
Development, leadership and support of professional working groups within the education faculty of the GTAC. Five roles are available, laboratory (data interpretation & reporting), laboratory (technologies), bioinformatics, genetic counselling and clinical genetics. |
Editor Band 7 2 year secondment FT (1.0 WTE) |
Working with the GTAC team members, external stakeholders, contributors, and content developers to ensure that the GTACs innovative e-learning solutions are fit for purpose, high quality and meet users needs. |
E-Learning Designer Band 7 2 year secondment PT (0.6 WTE) |
Working with the GTAC team members, external stakeholders, contributors, and content developers to develop innovative e-learning solutions that are fit for purpose, high quality and meet users’ needs. |
Project co-ordinator Band 6 2 year secondment FT (1.0 WTE) |
Working within the GTAC Operational Team to develop, deliver, and monitor project plans to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of GTAC-related projects. You will work closely with clinical and professional colleagues to support any existing and planned associated work streams. |
Project administrator Band 4 2 year secondment FT (1.0 WTE) |
Working with the GTAC Operations Lead and the Project Coordinator to be responsible for providing administrative support aligned to a portfolio of GTAC projects. |
