Responsibilities for each organisation involved in the ETP recruitment process.

Employer

  • To ensure local executive Trust approvals for recruitment are underway in a timely manner.
  • Upon confirmation from the National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS), to begin timely delivery of recruitment and pre-employment checks to ensure the programme start date can be met.
  • To advertise and carry out local recruitment and selection process aligned with the ETP person specification.
  • All panel members will be required to be up to date with mandatory training on equality, diversity and inclusion. We recommend panel members complete the NSHCS conscious inclusion training.
  • To conduct local interviews and ensure that, in their professional view, the successful applicant meets the person specification and admissions requirements.
  • Confirm with NSHCS that this has been completed along with confirmation of the applicant and relevant documentation by the deadline provided by the NSHCS recruitment team. This includes:
    • Completion of ETP nomination Jisc survey (details will be sent via email on confirmation of your post).
    • Copies of your nominated applicant(s) qualifications. Where qualifications are outstanding, the employer will need to ensure that these are chased and provided before their start date.
    • UK ENIC Statement of Comparability (if applicable).
    • Approval from the HEI (if applicable).
    • AHCS registration certificate and number (if applicable). If the applicant is in the process of obtaining registration, it is the employers responsibility to chase as appropriate and ensure it is provided to the NSHCS before the start date.
  • It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the admissions requirements, and pre-employment checks, including right to work and study checks are undertaken prior to the commencement date.
  • To inform NSHCS of any issues that may cause delays.

National School of Healthcare Science

  • To provide guidance on the recruitment and selection process, including the following key documents:
    • sample job advertisement
    • job description
    • person specification
  • To facilitate recruitment to posts, including changes to commissions. Informing necessary stakeholders of any changes.
  • Collate and provide final cohort information to relevant stakeholders.

Training Programme Director role

  • To provide guidance on the Echocardiography Training Programme.
  • Liaise with the NSHCS Recruitment Team on any eligibility queries.
  • Respond to complaints or appeals that are outside the standard process.

Provide training for Training Officers

The NSHCS will provide an opportunity for all named Training Officers to attend training for ETP trainers. Details will follow upon confirmation of posts and contact information.

Higher Education Institution

  • Review applicants’ qualifications and supporting information, where applicable.
  • Facilitate interviews with applicants if required and communicate outcome with the NSHCS.
