Creating a new NHS England
Health Education England (HEE) will be coming together with NHS England (NHSE) to create a new organisation on 1 April 2023. This means that the new NHS England will take responsibility for HEE’s current activities. This includes planning, recruiting, educating and training the health workforce and ensuring that the healthcare workforce has the people, skills, values and behaviours to deliver excellent healthcare and health improvement to patients and the public.
This is a challenging time for people affected by this change. HEE and the new NHSE are supporting colleagues across the organisations while at the same time listening to feedback from partners, trainers and trainees as this new organisation is designed.

ETP curriculum review
We’d like to say thanks to everyone that has expressed interest in being involved in the process and provided feedback. We now have a wealth of information to draw upon as we begin the work required to keep the curriculum fit for purpose.
We’re pleased to say we’ve made an appointment to the position of Lead Editor. The Lead Editor will provide the scientific leadership for the review, working with us at the School to navigate the review process. Once everything is finalised with the appointment, we’re looking forward to introducing them to you. The next step is for the Lead Editor to work with your expressions of interest to establish a Curriculum Review Group. The group will then review your feedback and make decisions on the future direction for the curriculum. Look out for an update next month.
