What you need to know
You will need to acquire and develop the skills and knowledge about:
- How to support your trainee to become an independent, lifelong learner. Further training on developing independent learners can be found on the NHS Learning Hub.
- How to support and encourage reflective thinking in your trainee. A learning resource on reflective practice in healthcare science for both trainees and trainers can be found on the NHS Learning Hub.
- Your trainee’s current knowledge, abilities, needs and preferences in relation to learning and training. Getting to know your trainee well is important to ensure that you can provide professional and emotional support, recognising when your trainee is anxious or stressed.
