Access to OneFile for new ETP trainees

As we outlined at your induction day and in your introductory OneFile webinar, we have been delayed in providing new ETP trainees with access to OneFile while we wait for staff at OneFile to add the new ETP curricula into the e-portfolio. This is due to be done by the first week in December at the latest, if not earlier.

There is nothing to stop you doing your training activities and observed assessments in the workplace and developing your evidence of having achieved them. That is the key, important work. OneFile is simply the place where this evidence is submitted and approved by your Training Officer.

We would therefore encourage you to look through your two workplace modules in the Curriculum Library to understand the activity you need to do. You can begin this activity without access to OneFile.

You should also familiarise yourself with the workplace-based assessment standards which give you clear guidance about how workplace-based assessments should be conducted. You can begin and complete as many workplace-based assessments as you can while we wait to provide you with OneFile.

We apologise for this delay in providing you with access to OneFile. We hope to have it with you soon.

What are my responsibilities as a trainee?

To support your trainers and departmental colleagues to take on the role of trainer, we have developed a set of standards which clearly articulate what is expected of them. These are known as the NSHCS training standards and expectations.

Alongside your trainers’ responsibilities, you as the trainee have responsibilities, as you are an active participant in your own learning journey.

Finally, Change NHS is building a 10-Year Health Plan, led by the government and the NHS. It features a dedicated section for NHS staff to help shape immediate actions and long-term changes.
